Shambling Towards Hiroshima - James K. Morrow I love all of James Morrow's books and on many levels this was true here as well. However, I really felt that this was his personal homage to the horror movies, directors and actors of the early years of cinema. At least I assume that is what he was doing. I recognized a few of the movies and actors, but have no idea if the specified actors were really in the specified movies, and if the scenes described were real. Doesn't make much difference to the story, but it did cause me to skim a little over all the references.

However, it was an easy read and a funny tale that I would still recommend to Morrow fans.
