The Giver - Lois Lowry I read this book based on all the excellent reviews. I can't say it was disappointing, but I do not agree with the high position in all the book lists.

This is a simple story of a simpler future. I thought Mr. Lowry did a nice job of slowly spoon-feeding reality to the reader, but I think the short length required too much rushing as the story progressed.

A quick read that wasn't bad, but hardly the best science fiction story I have read recently.
